How can we best create the conditions for people to flourish?

Welcome.

I’m so pleased you’re here.

This course is all about you and your glorious ability to think for yourself.

We were born able to think – expecting and needing to do so.

The trouble is, whilst we were still learning how to think for ourselves, we were also observing and experiencing the behaviour of those around us.

Wherever we went we observed people preventing other people from thinking for themselves.

We saw them interrupting, paraphrasing, inserting their own ideas and finishing sentences for other people. All of which drained the force, energy and often the very meaning from the original thoughts.

Generally we observed the way people behaved destroyed any chance of truly independent thinking for ourselves and others.

So by the time we could think for ourselves, we usually didn’t. Thus we rarely got good at it.

Some of us can remember only one person who ever encouraged us to think fully for ourselves. Some of us can’t remember anyone at all.

But here we are. We have arrived at this course because we have elected to rectify all of that.

We have the capacity to think magnificently for ourselves.

There remains intact a wellspring of intelligence, of intellect, of language, of connection, of insight and of discovery.

We just need the right conditions to summon it.

That is what a Thinking Partnership Session provides and what we will be learning in this course.

The course begins with an exploration of the Ten Components of a Thinking Environment and why a Thinking Environment matters.

We’ll then spend much of our time together focused entirely on practice, observation and experiencing Thinking Sessions.

I’ll be encouraging you to think for yourself about real issues in your work or life.

The things that are challenging you the most, the issues and feelings you’re feeling most stuck by.

You’ll learn about the different kinds of assumptions that limit our thinking and how precisely formulated Incisive Questions can remove these and create a resurgence of creativity, clarity, and courage.

The course is best approached as an opportunity for you to fully immerse yourself in the Thinking Environment and experience fully independent thinking yourself.

I’m so looking forward to sharing this profoundly simple yet powerful way of being with you.

It's no exaggeration to say the Thinking Environment has changed my life, I only hope it will make a similar difference for you.
